Information we handle

Content you create or import may include photos and cut-out results, item names, tags, materials, stories, trip information, collection dates, your avatar sticker, and any location or voice memo you choose to record. Preferences, onboarding state, and wall layout are saved locally.

Sign in with Apple stores the app-specific user identifier in the iOS Keychain and the name you choose to share in local preferences. Apple handles App Store purchases, subscriptions, trials, and offer codes; Trinket does not receive card details or store offer-code text.

Permissions and purpose

• Camera — photograph items to collect.
• Photos — import or save images when you choose.
• Location — optionally capture a one-time place for an item.
• Microphone — record voice memos you create.

Trinket requests each permission only when the corresponding feature needs it. You can deny or withdraw any permission in iOS Settings.

Processing and storage

Subject detection and background removal happen locally on your device. Your collection is stored locally with SwiftData. If enabled, iCloud Sync uses Trinket’s private CloudKit database to sync with your other devices using the same iCloud account; that private data counts toward your iCloud storage.

The Apple user identifier remains in the Keychain and is not uploaded to a developer-operated server. Apple provides Sign in with Apple, CloudKit, and place-name resolution under Apple’s applicable terms.

Sharing, analytics, and tracking

Trinket has no third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app or cross-site tracking, data-broker sales, or third-party analytics services. When you actively use system sharing, the selected content is handed to the app, service, or recipient you choose; that recipient’s policy then applies.

The Footprint Map requests visible-region vector tiles from OpenFreeMap using OpenStreetMap data. Cities mode may download simplified administrative boundaries from geoBoundaries or cn-atlas using only a country code. Photos, titles, stories, and saved item coordinates are not sent with these requests.

Retention, deletion, and withdrawal

Content remains on your device and in your private iCloud database until you delete it in Trinket or through iCloud data management. Uninstalling usually removes only the local copy on that device. Disconnecting Apple ID removes the local identifier and turns off iCloud Sync; it does not delete keepsakes.

Trinket does not operate an account server, so there is no developer-side account record to delete. You can delete keepsakes in the app, manage iCloud data with Apple’s system tools, and withdraw system permissions in iOS Settings.

Security and children’s privacy

Trinket uses the iOS app sandbox and system permissions to help protect local data. No storage method guarantees absolute security, so safeguard your device and system accounts.

Trinket is not primarily directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
